Application process

If you would like to apply to become an On Purpose Associate, please email your CV, with a cover letter, to recruitment@onpurpose.uk.com.

The deadline for applications is Mon 16 August, 2010.

There will be two rounds of interviews, each consisting of one or two interviews with people from On Purpose and a third party recruitment experts. There will likely also be a short written exercise

Applicants will be informed of the outcome by the beginning of October and those that are successful must then be able to take up their placements in mid January.

What we look for

On Purpose Associates will have several years of experience and may have post-graduate study qualifications as well, e.g., an MBA. They will not only have an impressive academic history but also an inspiring track record of achievement in and outside of their work.

Associates will be enthusiastic and committed individuals who can integrate easily into a wide variety of settings and quickly develop productive and trusting relationships. They will demonstrate a passion and commitment to social issues.

As well as this, you will, at interview, be asked to demonstrate:

  • Problem solving: structuring and breaking down complex problems into solvable elements, whilst not losing site of the big picture; comfort with quantitative analysis and mental arithmetic

  • Motivation and persistence: doing new and exciting things, challenging yourself and setting goals, but also knowing when to compromise and be pragmatic

  • Leadership: convincing and inspiring others, playing your part in the team and dealing effectively with conflict

  • Communication skills: presenting yourself appropriately and articulating yourself clearly and precisely, whilst listening actively to what others say

As this will be On Purpose's second year, being excited by the prospect of helping to develop and build On Purpose will be an added bonus.
